I received your April 11, 2012 memorandum regarding the Property Value Protection Ordinance (PVPO), including the attached staff report and IBA analysis. I believe this is an important action the Council should consider in our efforts to address the impact of foreclosures in our communities.
As you know the Land Use and Housing Committee discussed this topic on October 26, 2011 and directed the Office of the Independent Budget Analyst and the Neighborhood Code Compliance Department to provide research and analysis on the PVPO.
As such, I respectfully request that you docket this item for consideration at an upcoming Land Use & Housing Committee meeting. I look forward to the discussion and working closely with the committee to address this issue.
