Are City’s Street Sweeping Standards Being Met?

March 3, 2015

What: Councilmember David Alvarez, Chair of the Environment Committee, has requested a status update from the Transportation and Storm Water Department on street sweeper availability and how often streets are swept.

San Diego is one of the few cities of its size in the United States that still sweeps residential areas. The City’s goal is to sweep residential streets once per month and commercial streets once a week to meet storm water regulations but constituents often report absent sweepers.  The Committee will discuss how to resolve shortage of equipment and work delays.

When: Environment Committee will meet on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 2PM.  (ITEM-3: Status Update from Transportation and Storm Water Department on STREET SWEEPER AVAILABILITY)

Where: City Administration Building, Committee Room – 12th Floor 202 C Street, San Diego
