On February 25, 2016, I announced the formation of the Climate Action Plan Implementation Working Group. The participation of each identified stakeholder is critical to the success of the Climate Action Plan being implemented in a successful way. To ensure San Diego's neighborhoods have a voice on this Working Group, I am adding an additional stakeholder seat, "Community Representative," which will be filled by Joe LaCava.
Mr. LaCava has extensive experience with the City's community planning groups, having served as the chair of the Community Planning Committee for several years. He also remains an active voice city-wide on many issues affecting our communities- ranging from various community plan updates to the passage of the Climate Action Plan last year. I know Mr. LaCava will be a valuable resource for the Working Group and I look forward to working closely with him on this effort.
Additionally, the "Sustainable Energy" stakeholder seat was left unfilled at the time the Working Group was announced. It is my pleasure to announce it will be filled by Hanna Greene, Policy Manager, Energy Efficiency and Building Performance with the Center for Sustainable Energy. Ms. Greene has provided the Environment Committee with valuable information regarding sustainable building policies and remains a valuable resource to the City as we move forward with sustainable energy policies. I am confident that Ms. Greene will contribute greatly to the Working Group's efforts and I look forward to working with her in the coming months.
Finally, Monique Lopez, Senior Planner and Policy Advocate with Environmental Health Coalition will serve in place of Ms. Takvorian in the "Environmental Justice" stakeholder seat.
I have attached a revised roster for the Working Group that is up to date with the release of this memorandum.
