Alvarez on City’s Living Wage Ordinance Vote

February 2, 2016

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 2, 2016) – Councilmember Alvarez has issued the following statement in response to City Council’s approval today of the Living Wage Ordinance amendment to broaden the coverage to include service workers in the medical field, including paramedics and emergency technicians.

“I was proud to support today’s amendments to the City’s Living Wage Ordinance to include EMTs and paramedics. As critical first responders, their wages and health coverage must be sufficient so that they can live in the City in which they work.”
