SANDAG can now fast-track a construction project for the State Highway Route 11 corridor, including highway improvements and international border-crossing facilities, which will reduce border-crossing wait times by up to 50%.
This bill will enable SANDAG to use alternative project delivery methods like the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) method, which can often be more efficient and cost-effective than traditional construction methods.
Not only will this bill be an opportunity for people to cross the border faster, but it’s an opportunity to build businesses, visit family, and will create a more tightly connected cross border community.
